WHO SHOULD PRAY AND WHY?
The power of prayer is truly an essential stabiliser to Christian lives. It not only cleanses us but helps us to focus on the important.

Everyone can pray! The gift is yours; it is given to you. It is free!

Why should we pray? Your life will become more rewarding, and you will also learn forgiveness. And God likes to be praised. Remember that prayers can be highly successful, when two or more pray together.

When Blossom was a child, her grandmother would sing her favourite, the children’s hymn "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so". She grew up with this song from birth. It never left her, and when she had children, she passed that love onto them. She is happy to say they sung it for years.

Later, Elvis Presley’s gospel music found her, she then clung to that. To hear his love of God and the feelings of absoluteness made her cry with joy. A few of his famous religious songs are "Peace in the Valley", "I believe", "Take my hand, precious Lord", and "How great thou art".

Later, at school, Psalm 23 from the Bible (a short psalm of David) caught her attention. The music to this hymn makes it highly communicable. It resolved the power and contentment which she often craved as a teenager. She then used it as a daily tool for prayer.

Immediately she felt favoured. It supported her at times when she felt abandoned or just wanted to be closer to the Lord. It was highly restful, and a good tranquil place to be. It was like love.

Do you have a special hymn you sing to yourself?

It can be just like a prayer, but sung.

Memorising your Biblical passages can become a turn-on. It certainly pushed buttons inside Blossom that made her think clearer. It might help you too.

In this world anyone who is a child of God, or who is seeking to find God for salvation, should call out to the Lord, and He will come!

God loves us! You and me! Seek Him out! Make Him your friend!
